Resolutions of 2009

My first resolution for 2009 would be to stop procrastinating. It really is a bad habit of mine and I need to overcome it. It would make my life easier and i wouldn't have to be so worried about not doing something right because I did it the night before.

My second resolution for 2009 would be to stop to being as self-conscious I am. I don't think much of myself and don't set my expectations high as I should. I will compliment myself once a day if i have to.

My third resolution for 2009 would be to get better grades. I would try harder and study longer if I have to. I know grades are important if I want to get into a good college.

Soundtrack of 2008

If i were to compile a soundtrack of my year it would consist of the following songs.
1. Your Guardian Angel by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
The chorus,"I will never let you fall. I'll stand up with you forever. I'll be there for you through it all, even if saving you sends me to heaven", means the most to me because of the series of events that happened to my family and I during the beginning of the year. I pretty much consider myself a guardian to my little brothers and their safety and wellbeing is my top priority to me. I'll be with them through anything & everything that might happen to them.

2. Let the Flames Begin by Paramore
One of the verses,"I believe there's hope. Buried beneath it all, hiding beneath it all, and growing beneath it all. This is how we'll dance when they try to take us down. This is how we'll sing", is my absolute favorite because it gives me a sense of peace. I try to give my family hope that things will get better and they do the same. We all know it's there, whether we believe it or not and we'll always be smiling even if it's not clear.

3. I'm Yours by Jason Mraz
The fourth verse,"Well open up your minds and see like me. Open up your palms and da** you're free. Look into your heart and you'll find love love love love love", is really eye opening to me. I think it pretty much means that if you let go of worrying to much and just take some time to view everything through another's perspective, you'd be happier and willing to try new things. This song is a really beautiful song=]

Jigsaw Reading: It's a Green Thing

The title of the article is "It's a Green Thing". It is located on pages 26 & 27. It was written by Ashley Cisneros. The article talks about the South Plantation High School and their efforts to raise enviromental awareness, Bishop John J. Snyder Catholic High School and their enviromental club, and 12 tips to help teens get started. This article is helpful because it can help me prove to my fellow classmates that's not just a "nerd" thing to recycle and be enviromentally aware. It can help them begin recycling and saving energy.

Cinderalla response

I love the story Cinderella. It’s everything a little girl imagines. It has love, family, and a happy ending. I like how the author makes it funny and unrealistic but what I don’t understand is why, out of all the other animals, he chose rats to be in the story. Girls don’t like rats, or mice, so that could not possibly a reason.
Another thing that I would like to know is why the author chose for the stepmother to be wicked. Why couldn’t her father have died and her stepfather been wicked? In all, the word choice and adjectives the author used is very remarkable. He didn’t choose very hard words, making it seem like he was only trying to capture young audiences, but still made it appealing to older audiences too.
